ANGA COM 2018 – Smart Solutions for IP and Optical Networks
Cologne – also in 2018 ANGA COM continued the success-story with more than 21.700 visitors and more than 500 exhibitors. This was another positive signal after the relaunch in new fair halls in the previous year. Always onboard: the Team from ASTRO Strobel Kommunikationssysteme. One focus this year was the further development of the U – head end platform. Besides the multiplexing option, the frontend for the reception of multistream-transponders has been further developed. In the sector of professional head end solutions ASTRO launched its new MIQ – modular IP & QAM system - for the target group of hotels, medical centers and health & fitness-clubs. A new ECO-model of the bestseller QAM BOX fascinated the visitors because of the very low power consumption (smaller than 35 watts). In the field of optical transmission technology ASTRO showed it`s recently launched OFN 45 which has been successfully established with well-known telecommunication companies. 8 new amplifiers of the HV-compact series as well as a new universal amplifier (HVO 1244) found their way from the research and development department to the fair. The acceptance from the audience was sensational, also because of German “Bockwurst”, tasty “Kölsch” and a soccer table tournament as an intro to the soccer world championship 2018 in Russia.
IBC Amsterdam 2017 - new generation of IP streamers
Amsterdam – IBC 2017 took place on 15th until 19th of September with participation of 1,700 exhibitors and with more than 50,000 visitors. Main topics also in 2017 media-creation, administration and broadcasting.
On IBC, ASTRO shows a new generation of IP streamers for the U 100 head end platform with multiplexing option. The devices U 144-X / U 148-X for DVB-S2 in IP and U 164-X / U 168-X for DVB-T /-T2/-C to IP will replace the successful predecessor. In addition to the familiar features for the processing of SPTS and MPTS with RTP and FEC, the new developed frontends offer the option to multiplex four input streams to four output streams. This licensable feature allows an even more efficient alignment of MPTS. The signal density did not change with 24 transponders (FTA) and 12 transponders (with CI) per 19” rack unit.
ASTRO extents continuously its product portfolio in the segment of optical transmission for broadcasting in the FTTH/FTTB and Cable Operator market. Additionally to the existing products, there are now dual pump optical Amplifiers (EDFAS) for highest reliability available. Also new is an optical switch, usable for link redundancy or device redundancy. This is required to keep the downtime in the network to zero, in case of some fiber damage in the field or device failures. Not only with these new products from IP to Optical Networks, ASTRO shows again the competence as a complete Systemprovider.
